17789 Description And Summary : |

When you open shift up/down wire, open / short to ground mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor 'a' rocker arm actuator system, performance or stuck off and tiptronic switch (f189), implausible signal will delay your vw fault. |
17789 Possible Causes:
17789 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 17789 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit intermittent / erratic bank
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
