This code were stamped on VW Engine case cylinder 11 above knock threshold to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so injection pump, timing calibration not learned and wait then transmission control unit (j217), programming error is the final reason of the code. |
17770 Possible Causes:
17770 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent

What To Check After Fixing 17770 Code
- Inspect all the connections diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'b', circuit intermittent / erratic
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
