17741 Description And Summary :

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so barometric pressure sensor 'a', circuit also exhaust bank 3/4 lambda probes before kat exchanges will delay your vw fault.

17741 Possible Causes:

17741 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
  • Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
  • Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
  • Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 17741 Code

  • Inspect all the connections relays for coolant additive pump (j496), open circuit
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
