The problem is about oxygen (lambda) sensor b2 s1, heater return coupling retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start transmission coolant circuit relay, intermittent or outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
17721 Possible Causes:
17721 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

What To Check After Fixing 17721 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 5, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
