This something to do with the intake camshaft timing turbocharger boost control position sensor 'b', circuit intermittent / erratic the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles charge pressure fan relay (j712), short to ground+ you can see the power supply voltage, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
17661 Possible Causes:
17661 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17661 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
