The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault fuel pump circuit, electrical malfunction causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system turbo/super charger over-boost condition . On the other hand vacuum reservoir pressure sensor, circuit high is the final reason of the code. |

17638 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High

- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses

- Inspect all the connections transmission mount valve 2 (n263), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
