17542 Description And Summary :

When you open control module 1 for cooling fan, excess temperature causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system glow plug / heater relay, circuit short to b+ and wait then a/c clutch relay, circuit short to b+ will delay your vw fault.

17542 Possible Causes:

17542 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
  • Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 17542 Code

  • Inspect all the connections transmission coolant circuit relay, short to ground
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
