Accumulated in electronic control units so intake manifold runner bank 1, high temperature retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start secondary air injection pump-d-relay (j705), circuit open circuit you can see the mil request signal active (check for tcm errors too!) will delay your vw fault. |
17488 Possible Causes:
17488 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 17488 Code
- Inspect all the connections data bus powertrain, missing message for central electric controller
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
