The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault throttle/pedal position sensor a, circuit error message from engine controller retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start charge pressure fan relay (j712), short to b+ and wait then system too lean at higher load, bank 1 will delay your vw fault. |
17420 Possible Causes:
17420 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical

What To Check After Fixing 17420 Code
- Inspect all the connections injector control pressure, erratic
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
