17404 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'f', circuit low retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start exhaust aftertreatment fuel injector 'a', circuit / open or change injector control pressure sensor, circuit is the final reason of the code. |
17404 Possible Causes:
17404 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17404 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold runner control, lower stop not reached
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
