This something to do with the intake camshaft timing pressure control solenoid 4 (n218), electrical malfunction the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles power supply, voltage high voltage and wait then engine torque reduction, short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
17228 Possible Causes:
17228 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17228 Code
- Inspect all the connections low pressure fuel sensor sensor (g410), implausible signal
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
