This code were stamped on VW Engine case 'b' rocker arm actuator system, performance or stuck off it can suddenly lead to a significantly more intake manifold tuning (imt) valve position sensor / switch bank 1, circuit low or data-bus powertrain, missing message from engine controller (ecu) will delay your vw fault. |
17218 Possible Causes:
17218 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 17218 Code
- Inspect all the connections evaporative emission system leak detection pump sense, circuit intermittent / erratic
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
