This code were stamped on VW Engine case oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s1, heater return coupling retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start please check dtc memory of steering electronics (j527) you can see the fuel additive control module requested mil illumination is the final reason of the code. |
17198 Possible Causes:
17198 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 17198 Code
- Inspect all the connections outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
