The problem is about control module 2 for cooling fan, faulty causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system throttle closed position, performance and wait then exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
17189 Possible Causes:
17189 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17189 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
