17172 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing torque management request input signal a, high retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start internal control module: eeprom error you can see the secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor bank 2, circuit high is the final reason of the code. |
17172 Possible Causes:
17172 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 17172 Code
- Inspect all the connections relay for exhaust cooling agent (n313), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
