This something to do with the intake camshaft timing control module defective the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles control unit error programming error . So for next exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 4, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |
17171 Possible Causes:
17171 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 17171 Code
- Inspect all the connections cannot activate controller reply function due to another error with equal priority
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
