17164 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine auxiliary engine coolant (ec) pump relay (j496), open or short to ground It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake engine- / transmission control modules, versions do not match also transmission mount valve 1 (n262), short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
17164 Possible Causes:
17164 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17164 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust pressure sensor
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
