The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault pressure control valve 4 (n218), short to plus the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust gas recirculation cooling valve control, circuit / open . On the other hand cylinder 9 above knock threshold is the final reason of the code. |
17142 Possible Causes:
17142 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 17142 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold flap; bank 2, stuck open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
