The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault data bus powertrain, missing message from airbag controller causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, short to ground or linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / pump current, short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
17142 Possible Causes:
17142 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 17142 Code
- Inspect all the connections malfunction indication light (k83), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
