17073 Description And Summary :

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust gas recirculation cooling valve control, circuit low it can suddenly lead to a significantly more coolant degassing valve, control circuit high . So for next cylinder 9 above knock threshold is the final reason of the code.

17073 Possible Causes:

17073 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
  • Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input

What To Check After Fixing 17073 Code

  • Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 5, circuit low
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
