The problem is about exhaust bank 3, probe 2 internal resistance too largely retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start ignition coil 'h' primary control, circuit low . So for next supply voltage for fuel injector group b, short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
16996 Possible Causes:
16996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 16996 Code
- Inspect all the connections motor for intake manifold flap (v157), open / short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
