16996 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine accelerator position sensor (g79), signal too low mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor ignition coil 'l' secondary circuit, malfunction also throttle actuator control system, stuck open is the final reason of the code. |
16996 Possible Causes:
16996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 16996 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas recirculation throttle control, circuit 'a' low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
