This code were stamped on VW Engine case coolant fan 2 (v177), open circuit it can suddenly lead to a significantly more kick down switch, error message from engine contr. or relays for large amount of heat (j360), short-circuit after pluses will delay your vw fault. |

16983 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical

What To Check After Fixing 16983 Code
- Inspect all the connections turbocharger 2 control module (j725), voltage supply outside permissible range
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
