This something to do with the intake camshaft timing linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, short to b+ the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit or change vehicle speed sensor 'b' will delay your vw fault. |

16972 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
What To Check After Fixing 16972 Code
- Inspect all the connections turbocharger boost control position sensor 'b', circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
