This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake manifold runner control, lower stop not reached mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor friction too high, intake cam adjustment bank 1 or change throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit intermittent will delay your vw fault. |

16958 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
What To Check After Fixing 16958 Code
- Inspect all the connections control module throttle actuator position, performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
