This something to do with the intake camshaft timing vehicle speed signal wheel speed from brake control module; range / performance the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor signal, implausibly rich also throttle actuator control system, sudden high air flow detected will delay your vw fault. |

16872 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low

What To Check After Fixing 16872 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 5, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
