16689 Description And Summary :
This something to do with the intake camshaft timing direct ozone reduction catalyst temperature sensor, circuit high run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor before catalyst, heater circuit, regulation at upper limit also relays for coolant additive pump (j496), open circuit is the final reason of the code.

16689 Possible Causes:

16689 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

Inspect all the connections valve for exhaust cooling agent (n313), interruption / short-circuit after mass
Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
