16490 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault fuel pump "a", low flow / performance the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles camshaft position signal output, circuit high or a/c clutch relay, circuit short to ground will delay your vw fault.

16490 Possible Causes:

16490 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
  • Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
  • Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
  • Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

What To Check After Fixing 16490 Code

  • Inspect all the connections turbo/super charger wastegate solenoid c (n388), signal high
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
