16490 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault fuel pump "a", low flow / performance the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles camshaft position signal output, circuit high or a/c clutch relay, circuit short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
16490 Possible Causes:
16490 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 16490 Code
- Inspect all the connections turbo/super charger wastegate solenoid c (n388), signal high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
