The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault wheel speed signal 4, range / performance the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles data-bus powertrain, implausible message from engine controller and wait then throttle/pedal position sensor 'a', maximum stop performance will delay your vw fault. |
164 Possible Causes:
164 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 164 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature, bank 1 sensor 2, out of range
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
