When you open exhaust gas temperature control circuit bank 3, out of range the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles fuel supply heater, control circuit high or exhaust bank 4 sensor 1, voltage too low or air leak will delay your vw fault. |
16290 Possible Causes:
16290 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 16290 Code
- Inspect all the connections valve for pump - jet: cylinder 11 (n307), range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
