162 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault auxiliary engine coolant (ec) pump relay (j496), open or short to ground the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 2 sensor 2, circuit intermittent also exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 2 sensor 2, circuit range / performance will delay your vw fault. |
162 Possible Causes:
162 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 162 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b2 s1, pump current, short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
