161 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault bank 1, cam shaft position sensor, discharge opening (g300), interruption / short-circuit to b+ causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system direct ozone reduction catalyst deterioration sensor, circuit range / performance also turbocharger boost control position sensor 'b', circuit range / performance is the final reason of the code.

161 Possible Causes:

161 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
  • Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off

What To Check After Fixing 161 Code

  • Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4, sensor 2, no activity
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
