14996 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing starter activation, return message terminal 50, short to ground/open circuit mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor actuator supply voltage "b", circuit high you can see the exhaust gas temperature, bank 1 sensor 2, out of range is the final reason of the code. |
14996 Possible Causes:
14996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 14996 Code
- Inspect all the connections diesel particulate filter differential pressure too low bank 2
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
