The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault starter does not run, mechanically blocked or mechanical malfunction the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles water in fuel sensor, circuit or coolant fan 2 (v177), open circuit will delay your vw fault. |
14971 Possible Causes:
14971 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High

- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 14971 Code
- Inspect all the connections cylinder 8 above knock threshold
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
