14689 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit high mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / reference voltage, open circuit also pressure control solenoid 3 (n217), short to b+ is the final reason of the code.

14689 Possible Causes:

14689 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
  • Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
  • Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

What To Check After Fixing 14689 Code

  • Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / common ground wire, short to b+
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
