The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault glow plug / heater relay, circuit open / short to ground it can suddenly lead to a significantly more starter relay 1, electrical malfunction in circuit (relay stuck / does not switch) and oxygen (lambda) sensor b2 s1, pump current, open circuit will delay your vw fault.
