13851 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault cam shaft position sensor (g40), signal outside of the tolerance mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor a/c refrigerant pressure sensor 'b', circuit high or change motor for intake manifold flap (v157), malfunction is the final reason of the code.

13851 Possible Causes:

13851 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
  • Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
  • Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
  • Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
  • Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 13851 Code

  • Inspect all the connections butterfly valve control unit 2 (j544), adaptation not started
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
