13840 Description And Summary : |

When you open throttle position (tp) sensor 1-2, correlation retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start potentiometer 2 for egr (g466), signal too high or data bus powertrain, no message from transmission controller (tcu) is the final reason of the code. |
13840 Possible Causes:
13840 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 13840 Code
- Inspect all the connections coolant fan control 2: open or short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
