13240 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), electrical malfunction mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor secondary air injection pump-d-relay (j705), circuit short to b+ also throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'f', circuit range / performance is the final reason of the code.

13240 Possible Causes:

13240 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
  • Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
  • Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
  • Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low

What To Check After Fixing 13240 Code

  • Inspect all the connections reductant injection air pressure sensor 'a', circuit high
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
