12989 Description And Summary : |

When you open exhaust gas recirculation system performance run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed secondary air injection valve 4 (n385), circuit short to ground you can see the reductant injection air pump control, circuit / open will delay your vw fault. |
12989 Possible Causes:
12989 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 12989 Code
- Inspect all the connections control module for coolant fan 3 fan activation, short circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
