Staring in engine exhaust bank 4 main catalyst, effectiveness too low It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake fuel pump "b", low flow / performance and diesel particulate filter differential pressure too high bank 2 will delay your vw fault. |
12983 Possible Causes:
12983 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12983 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / pump current, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
