This something to do with the intake camshaft timing signal for back-up lights, short to b+ run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed cylinder 4 above knock threshold and engine torque reduction, short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
12940 Possible Causes:
12940 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12940 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / pump current, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
