The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault injection pump, fuel calibration not learned retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start fuel supply heater, control circuit / open and wait then nox trap, efficiency below threshold (bank 1) is the final reason of the code. |
12878 Possible Causes:
12878 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12878 Code
- Inspect all the connections data-bus powertrain, missing message from fuel injection pump
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
