The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault data bus powertrain, implausible message of the clutch electrics to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so charge pressure fan relay (j712), short to b+ or relays for coolant additive pump (j496), short to ground is the final reason of the code. |

12874 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12874 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit intermittent
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
