The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault system too lean at higher load, bank 1 mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor tiptronic switch up, circuit short to ground or oxygen sensor b1 s1: heating circuit regulation at upper limit, upper limit exceeded is the final reason of the code. |

12858 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 12858 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / reference voltage, implausible
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
