This something to do with the intake camshaft timing ignition coil 'd' primary control, short to plus the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles throttle/fuel inhibit, circuit also evaporative emission system leak detection pump sense, circut high is the final reason of the code. |
12856 Possible Causes:
12856 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 12856 Code
- Inspect all the connections relays for small amount of heat (j359), disconnected or short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
