This something to do with the intake camshaft timing angle sensors 2 for butterfly valve drive 2 (g298), implausible signal mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor engine coolant bypass valve, control circuit / open also change-over valve for intake manifold flap 2, performance or stuck off will delay your vw fault. |

12849 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 12849 Code
- Inspect all the connections control module 1 for cooling fan, short circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
