This something to do with the intake camshaft timing mass-airflow sensor 3 (g456), signal to low the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles control module throttle actuator position, performance or throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'e', circuit range / performance will delay your vw fault. |

12744 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 12744 Code
- Inspect all the connections valve for intake manifold flap (n239), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
