The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault angle sensors 1 for butterfly valve drive 2 (g297), signal too largely retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start reductant injection valve bank 1 unit 1, circuit high or is the final reason of the code. |
12740 Possible Causes:
12740 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12740 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold runner control, circuit / open bank 1
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
