12697 Possible Causes:
12697 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 12697 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil 'c' primary control, short to plus
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
