The problem is about o2 sensor signals swapped bank 1 sensor 2 / bank 1 sensor 3 retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start engine coolant temperature sensor 2 (g83), circuit intermittent / erratic and wheel speed signal 2, range / performance is the final reason of the code. |
12612 Possible Causes:
12612 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

What To Check After Fixing 12612 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit range / performance bank 2
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
