This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle/pedal position sensor 'e', maximum stop performance it can suddenly lead to a significantly more exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 2 sensor 3, circuit high or relays for pump load air cooling (j536), interruption / short-circuit after mass is the final reason of the code. |

12589 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
What To Check After Fixing 12589 Code
- Inspect all the connections fuel pump "b", low flow / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
